2025 - 2026 Orientation Days » What is Orientation?

What is Orientation?

The goal of Orientation is to start the school year prepared and ready to learn from day one! Traditionally, our Orientation and Processing days are a complete success, with over 90% of student and family participation. All of our students are expected to be ready for school prior to the first day, as it is our goal to maximize every minute of instruction in the classroom.

During Orientation, students and families can take care of a myriad of tasks that will help make the transition back to school seamless and simple:

PARENT/GUARDIAN PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED
STUDENT PARTICIPATION IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED

Students can:
  • Take Yearbook and Student ID Photo
    • Students who do not attend will take their pictures on make-up picture day.
  • Receive Class Schedule
  • Pick-up Textbooks

Parents/Families can:
  • Complete & Submit Required Forms (English | Spanish)
  • Update Contact Information
  • Purchase RFMS Clothing (Optional)
  • Register for Parent Portal & Add your Student
  • Complete Volunteer Application
  • Prepay for Student Picture Package
  • Complete & Submit Household Income Form Only for families NEW to LAUSD for the 25-26 SY (or returning families with a missing form on file)

If families/students are unable to attend Orientation, students will receive class schedule and textbooks on the first day of school. All other parent/family business may be conducted at a later time.

Thank you in advance for your support in making the 2025-2026 school year a success!
