Honor Code & Academic Integrity

HONOR CODE

Robert Frost Middle School embodies a spirit of mutual trust and intellectual honesty central to the very nature of our school. The Honor Code represents the highest possible expression of shared values among the members of the school community.
  • We will act with academic integrity to build the skills we need for a successful future. We will demonstrate honesty in our work, and are open to challenges and criticism, valuing progress over perfection.
  • We will demonstrate respect in order to build our reputations as individuals worthy of respect. We will respect others’ time, privacy, work, and boundaries and show regard for their feelings, rights, ideas and wishes.
  • We will trust in ourselves and recognize that in order to be worthy of trust, we must be trustworthy. We will make responsible, honest choices and believe in our ability to learn and receive help from others.
  • We will be responsible for creating positive outcomes, recognizing that our actions have consequences. We will set and accomplish goals, be prepared for and engage in learning, approach challenges with a positive mindset, and ask for help rather than acting without honor.
  • We will foster equity of voice, opportunity, and group and individual accountability to create a school where every voice matters. Every student has the right to access and participate in learning, give and receive feedback and explore opportunities beyond the scope of the curriculum.
We recognize that without struggle, there is no growth and will welcome opportunities to reaffirm our commitment to the Honor Code. We will strive to embody these beliefs and graduate as people of positive character who will be assets to our community.

As a Frost Timberwolf,
  • I will act with academic integrity, to build the skills I need for a successful future.
  • I will demonstrate respect in order to build my reputation as an individual worthy of respect.
  • I will trust in myself and others and recognize that in order to be worthy of trust, I must be trustworthy.
  • I will be responsible for creating positive outcomes for myself, recognizing that my actions have consequences.
  • I will foster equity of voice, opportunity, and group and individual contributions to learning to create a school where every voice matters.
Timberwolves strive to embody these beliefs and recognize that without struggle, there is no growth.

Academic Integrity

Frost Middle School expects all students to submit their own, original work for class (as part of individual or group assignments). When using other sources, students must give credit to the author or authors according to the method prescribed by the classroom teacher. Academic dishonesty, cheating, or plagiarism may be punishable by the student receiving an Academic Grade of “F” for the assignment and/or a mark of “U” in Work Habits for the 5-Week Marking Period during which the assignment was graded. Aside from the classroom grade, Administrative consequences may be assigned depending on the gravity of the academic dishonesty.
