Traffic & Parking Safety
In Los Angeles, traffic fatalities are the leading cause of death for children ages 5 to 14. Our goal is to maintain a safe environment for our students. We ask parents to join us in practicing traffic and parking safety during drop-off and pick-up by adhering to the following safety guidelines stated in the announcement.
  • Drive at the school zone speed limit of 25 MPH on streets in front of and around the school
  • Make a complete stop at stop signs
  • Refrain from making u-turns around the perimeter of the school
  • Remind children to walk on sidewalks and crosswalks. Do NOT encourage children to jay-walk
  • Do not park in red zones
  • Yield to children crossing the streets
  • Drive at the speed limit and do NOT attempt to drive across the crosswalks as children are crossing the street
  • Do NOT enter the school parking lot through the exit
  • Park in the allocated parking spots on the street. Do not double park.
  • If/when driving along the service road, please drive the posted speed limit of 8 MPH.

The police department and school police have been informed of these safety concerns and will be monitoring the premises to ensure a safe morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Your diligent attention to this matter is paramount to the safety of our children. Please continue to drive carefully and be aware of your surroundings as you drop-off/pick-up your children.

Safe and Respectful Parking Habits
We have observed increasing concern related to the parking habits during the busy drop-off and pick-up times at our school. There have been unfortunate incidents of driveways being blocked and double parking, obstructing others from exiting the area smoothly. While we recognize that it can be difficult to find a suitable parking spot during these peak hours, it remains essential to maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone, including our neighboring residents.

We request your assistance in adhering to a few important guidelines:
  • Avoid blocking driveways around the school
  • Abstain from double parking
  • Always respect the community's designated parking zones and traffic rules

As we work diligently to find enduring solutions to this challenge, including collaborating with local authorities to better manage the traffic flow, we sincerely wish to avoid involving law enforcement to address this concern. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and the broader community. We encourage you to foster a spirit of communal responsibility and communicate these concerns to others in your network, helping to cultivate a safe and harmonious environment for all.
