Dress Code
DRESS CODE
Rev. by LSLC May 2022RFMS students are required to adhere to school dress code during the school day and/or school sponsored activities, unless otherwise indicated by school administration. The Local School Leadership Council has approved the use of the student dress code in an effort to promote student responsibility, equity, and to assist in setting the foundation of appropriateness and formality for our future generations of professional adults.
Free-Dress Days will be approved by school administration depending on overall merits. These days will be communicated to families as they are scheduled.
Note: ALL CLOTHING MUST BE FREE OF ANY OFFENSIVE IMAGES, LANGUAGE, OR MESSAGES.
APPROVED GARMENTS (see info graphic)
All RFMS Spiritwear and College Apparel are approved for daily wear. PE clothes are NOT spiritwear.
Tops
- Shirts must be polo style, collared, and solid color.
- Approved Colors (Solid Only): White, Dark Blue/Navy, Gray
- Shirts may not be overly large or small in size
- Shirts MUST extend below the waist with no undershirts hanging out
- Printed/embroidered logos other than the RFMS logo should not be larger than the size of a quarter
Sweaters/Outerwear
- Approved Colors (Solid Only): White, Dark Blue/Navy, Gray, Black
- Printed/embroidered logo should not be larger than one letter size page (8.5x11 inches)
Bottoms (Pants, Shorts, Skirts, Skorts)
- Approved Colors (Solid Only): Dark Blue/Navy, Tan (Khaki), Black
- Bottoms should be slacks with fitted legs
- Shorts/Skirts/Skorts should be no shorter than 3” above the knee
- Logos no larger than a quarter
- No plaid, athletic pants/shorts, sweatpants, coveralls, overalls, pajamas, leggings.
- Bottoms should be free of any holes, shreds, or tears.
Shoes
- Shoes should provide adequate support and safety.
- No heels or platforms more than an inch in height.
- No open-toe or open-heel shoes, slippers, or sandals.
Accessories
- Headgear/Scarves: Sports Caps, Knit Caps (Beanies), Scarves, and Hoodies may be worn outside of the classroom
- All headgear/scarves are to be solid white, navy blue, gray, or black; no logos/designs.
- Hair: No outrageous hairstyles that may pose a distraction to the learning environment.
- Make-Up: No heavy make-up.
- Piercings: No piercing of body parts (except ears).
- No gauges, hoops larger than 1” diameter, spikes, safety pins, or other sharp objects
Free Dress Day: Minimum Requirements: Skirts/shorts must be of appropriate length, as delineated in the “Bottoms” Section of the Dress Code Policy. No holes/shreds in garments, hats with logos, bare midriffs, spaghetti straps or strapless tops, offensive language/messages/images. No pajamas or costume attire.
